This painting is inspired by Our Lady of Montserrat. Our Lady of Montserrat, also known as La Moreneta (“The Little Dark One”), is a revered Black Madonna housed in the Montserrat Monastery in Catalonia, Spain. She is one of the most significant Marian devotions in the region and has drawn pilgrims for centuries.
